My first Onsen 温泉 experience, in Hakone in 2018, unfolded before the quiet majesty of Mount Fuji. Immersed in the warm water with steam dissolving the air and time seeming to soften, I felt a rare kind of magic. It was a ritual of rinsing away heaviness and noise and allowing beauty to enter, gently and without resistance.
