Shiori しおりcelebrates the joy and importance of reading. More than a simple bookmark, it marks the point where a story nourishes the mind, a pause in a journey through words. At the same time it becomes a small object of beauty.

Entirely handmade using reclaimed wood scraps from the frames of my canvas paintings, nothing is ever wasted in my creative process. Each element is guided by the philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, which embraces the quiet beauty of transience, natural irregularity and the subtle traces of time.

Every mark, grain and variation becomes part of the story, honouring the material’s authenticity rather than concealing it.

This is a limited edition of only 10 pieces. Each Shiori is carefully packaged with cardboard and traditional furoshiki packaging, ready to accompany a cherished book or be treasured as a small decorative object.
